1. Who We Are

SkillMinter (skillminter.com) is a free web application that generates Claude Code skill files from plain English descriptions. We are not a company — this is an independent tool operated by an individual developer. For privacy-related inquiries, contact us at: privacy@skillminter.com

2. Data We Collect

a) Data you provide

• Skill descriptions — text you enter into the generator. This is sent to the Anthropic API to generate your skill file. We do not store your input on our servers after the response is returned.

b) Data collected automatically

• IP address — stored temporarily (up to 24 hours) in Upstash Redis solely to enforce the rate limit of 1 generation per day per user. It is not linked to any personal profile and is automatically deleted after 24 hours.
• Analytics data — if you consent to cookies, Google Analytics 4 collects anonymized usage data (pages visited, session duration, browser type). No personally identifiable information is collected.
• Advertising cookies— if you consent, Google AdSense may set cookies to show relevant ads. See Google's privacy policy for details.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To generate your skill file (Anthropic API)
• To prevent abuse via rate limiting (IP address, max 24h)
• To understand how people use the site and improve it (Analytics, only with consent)
• To serve ads that fund the free service (AdSense, only with consent)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

We use cookies only with your consent (except strictly necessary cookies):

• Essential cookies — cookie consent preference (localStorage). No consent required.
• Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _gid). Requires consent.
• Advertising cookies — Google AdSense. Requires consent.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you
• Deletion — request deletion of your data (IP is auto-deleted in 24h)
• Objection — object to processing for analytics/advertising
• Withdraw consent — change cookie preferences at any time
• Portability — request your data in a portable format

7. Data Retention

• IP addresses for rate limiting: deleted automatically after 24 hours
• Skill descriptions you submit: not stored — processed in real-time only
• Analytics data: retained by Google per their data retention settings (default 14 months)

8. Children

SkillMinter is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be noted at the top of this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
